Things went pretty well on Saturday @ Regreen Festival. Especially considering that we hadn’t been playing a live gig with kvsu for at least 4-5 years and we had very little time to prepare and rehearse (it’s been a couple of really intense weeks!).
The location was beautiful! The festival was super interesting, with talks about biodiversity and green infrastructures (by renowned philosopher of science / evolutionist Telmo Pievani, among others), night walks, workshops, food, a craft market and a lot more.
Our performance was a mix of field-recording collages, live sound creation using natural elements (ice, wood), piano melodies and intricate drum machine pieces, We also used extracts from Michele’s compositions for orchestra, and bits and pieces from an upcoming kurodama album. The performance ended with two of our “noise pop” songs from a few years ago: love song and soap opera.
On the visual side, akirasrebirth worked mixing videos of natural spaces, video feeedback, live captured images and real-time processing of these materials, balancing more figurative moments with purely abstract ones.
